LINN BOYKE began his work with dogs in 1997 after the tragic loss of his dog Ginger fueled his desire to help other dogs. His career began in Los Angeles, California with a dog walking business –  eventually adding private training lessons and professional “dog parking” – offering his client’s dogs a day of fulfillment at the park.

As his business developed, Linn found that traditional methods of training and “obedience” had little effect on a dog’s behavioral issues. Searching for answers, Linn discovered “dog psychology” in 2000, which ignited a new passion for canine behavior and for rehabilitating dogs. From there, Linn handled countless cases from the now famous “Dog Psychology Center”. This is when Linn opened his first rehabilitation business – ZEN4K9S Behavioral Recovery Center, and a deeper sense of awareness and understanding of both himself and of the dog developed. Clients would drive from all over California and from as far away as Connecticut, Oregon, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Las Vegas, Montana, Michigan, Arkansas, and Washington… just for a consultation.

In 2006, Linn founded The School of Dog Psychology and began to think BEYOND THE DOG while continuing to teach clients and students alike. Since then, he has continued to develop a unique art of the dog. This is not like anything you have seen before, and this is not anything like typical dog training; this is Linn Boyke’s dog psychology: a subject that will take you far beyond the dog. Linn currently offers private consultations both in-person and virtually as well as traveling worldwide for five-day in-home interventions for dog owners and five-day shadow programs for dog professionals. Linn also travels to teach breakthrough workshops for both rescues and private businesses at their locations.

The School of Dog Psychology now offers a digital shadow program online, providing a view of Linn’s work as never seen before. This work begins at what Linn believes to be the most important place, meeting the dog at their emotions. You will learn from the dog’s perceptions, and from Linn’s three core philosophies of The Pressure Matrix, The Elements of Structure, and the Ten Rules to Live By.

“Uncle Linn” has helped many thriving dog professionals with their businesses, as well as many dog owners with their personal struggles. His favorite place to be is, of course, surrounded by a pack of dogs, but also in front of his students – teaching, mentoring, and helping more dogs.
